Submitting Referrals

What is a referral?
A referral is nothing more than notifying North Portal that owners of particular property may wish to sell. We guarantee payment of up to $1,000 or more for each valid referral. A valid referral means that we were able to perform the following: (a) confirm the owners wish to sell their property (b) place a contract for sale and purchase on the property and (c) obtain ownership of the property at the conclusion of settlement. Referrals are valid for a period of 3 months. The status of your submitted referral can be obtained by reviewing your profile online. To create a profile, click Profile.
How soon can I receive a check?
As soon as North Portal is in possession of the property you referred, a check will be issued, addressed based upon the information you provided in your profile. The status will reflect the check number as well as the date the payment was approved. If the status of your referral reflects that payment was issued and you have not yet received payment. Please contact Customer Service. The original check will be cancelled and a new check will be issued.
Can I refer myself? A relative?
You cannot refer yourself, meaning your name is on the mortgage and/or deed. We will wish to treat you as a seller of property rather than one who simply referred property. You can refer a relative, co-worker, neighbor, business associate, friend, landlord, etc.
